Alignment of academic advising & counseling services across institutions Proposal for a Regional Counseling/Advising Pre-Orientation/Admitted Transfer Day

Objectives of the Event Provide students with a “pre-orientation” at their CC before they leave for their new campus Will feature admissions and academic staff from the UCs, CSUs, and private schools to talk about what students should expect as they transition to a new campus There will be testimonials from transfer alumni, a panel of university representatives and transfer alumni, and breakout sessions with representatives from the different campuses

Event Specifics When: Three events 5/3/19 @ Oxnard College 5/2/19 @ Moorpark College ? @ Ventura College Who: All CC students who have been admitted to a four- year university and are in their last semester at the CC. Tentative schedule: 8:30 am – 9:00 am: Breakfast 9:00 am – 9:45 am: Testimonial from a transfer alum 10:00 am – 11:00 am: Panel of university representatives 11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Breakout sessions for UCs, CSUs, and Privates addressing questions specific to their campuses.
