Graduation Requirements Foundation Curriculum Complete all of the courses included in the Foundation coursework Endorsement Complete all courses for one Cluster/Option of one Endorsement area Assessments Pass all of your EOC exams Attendance Attend each class at least 90% of the class days

Dual Credit Classes Earn high school and college credit concurrently Nine Dual Credit classes offered at WHS Some offered through Angelo State University and others through Cisco College Students must meet TSI requirements in order to apply Students must pass the TSI Assessment or be exempt from it Students must apply for admission to the appropriate school and be accepted Do not re-apply if already taking a DC class from the same school Most of these classes meet at WHS during the regular school day Automotive Technology meets at Cisco College Dual Credit Informational Meeting Wednesday, February 27, at 6:00 p.m. in the PAC Do not need to attend if already taking a DC class

Teacher Aide Teacher Aide Request for Teacher Aide Form Must be picked up and started by the teacher Teacher will give it to you to complete and turn in Completed Request for Teacher Aide Form due in the Counselors’ Office by Thursday, March 7th. Important Facts to Consider: Teachers are limited in the number of student aides they can have. Students are not permitted to be an aide during a teacher’s conference period or during an athletic period. If you are an aide for a teacher during 5th period, you will have the same lunch period as that teacher. Teacher Aide not available as a choice in the computer enter an elective you would be willing to drop instead on the Request for Teacher Aide form, there is a space to indicate which elective you want to drop

Career Preparation 2 credits Can be 1 or two class periods 1 period in the class 1 period allotted for work time Seniors enrolled in this class must be at school a minimum of 4 class periods

Course requests Please look at the paper provided by your counselor. Look at the graduation plan. Look at the endorsement and option Look to see if classes are needed next year to complete your endorsement and option. Look at the list of classes required to graduate next year. Read the counselor notes. The information provided on this page is based on the following: the current endorsement and option in the computer the classes you are currently taking passing every course you are enrolled in this year A change of endorsement or option or failure to pass all classes this year means the classes required to graduate next year would change.

Course Requests New Electives Medical Terminology The Medical Terminology course is designed to introduce students to the structure of medical terms, including prefixes, suffixes, word roots, singular and plural forms, and medical abbreviations. The course allows students to achieve comprehension of medical vocabulary appropriate to medical procedures, human anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology. Anatomy and Physiology The Anatomy and Physiology course is designed for students to conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. Students in Anatomy and Physiology will study a variety of topics, including the structure and function of the human body and the interaction of body systems for maintaining homeostasis. Recommended Prerequisite—Medical Terminology Other Prerequisites—85+ each semester of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Can count as the 4th science

Performance Acknowledgements Students may earn recognition for Outstanding Performance in one or more of the following areas: Dual Credit course work Bilingualism and Biliteracy College Board Advanced Placement examinations PSAT, SAT, and ACT scores Business or Industry Certification or License
