South Sudan is a country found in East Africa.
South Sudan is the world’s newest country. The Catholic church is strong in South Sudan. There is also a Caritas agency there.
Sadly South Sudan has been badly affected by drought and conflict. Many people are living in refugee camps

Many people now live in camps.
The most important things that people need are water and food.
Annet is a primary school teacher Annet is a primary school teacher. Children don’t come to school because they are hungry, instead they go looking for mangoes on the riverbank. Annet also says it is hard for teachers to stand in front of the class all day if they haven’t eathing and feel like fainting. Annet’s mother has taken her younger children to Uganda where they are living as refugees. Annet’s volunteers to help Caritas identify families most in need of food and support.
