O Be Careful Where You Go

Pay careful attention, then, to how you live—not as unwise people but as wise—making the most of the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15–16 CSB

At the window of my house I looked through my lattice At the window of my house I looked through my lattice. I saw among the inexperienced, I noticed among the youths, a young man lacking sense. Proverbs 7:6–9 CSB

Crossing the street near her corner, he strolled down the road to her house at twilight, in the evening, in the dark of the night. Proverbs 7:6–9 CSB

Guard your mind

Guard your mind by hiding God’s Word in your heart.

I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you. Psalm 119:11 CSB

A woman came to meet him dressed like a prostitute, having a hidden agenda. She is loud and defiant; her feet do not stay at home. Now in the street, now in the squares, she lurks at every corner. She grabs him and kisses him; she brazenly says to him,… CSB

…“I’ve made fellowship offerings; today I’ve fulfilled my vows …“I’ve made fellowship offerings; today I’ve fulfilled my vows. So I came out to meet you, to search for you, and I’ve found you. I’ve spread coverings on my bed— richly colored linen from Egypt. I’ve perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon... CSB

…Come, let’s drink deeply of lovemaking until morning …Come, let’s drink deeply of lovemaking until morning. Let’s feast on each other’s love! My husband isn’t home; he went on a long journey. He took a bag of silver with him and will come home at the time of the full moon.” She seduces him with her persistent pleading; she lures with her flattering talk… CSB

…He follows her impulsively like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer bounding toward a trap until an arrow pierces its liver, like a bird darting into a snare— he doesn’t know it will cost him his life. Proverbs 7:10–23 CSB

Guard your steps

Don’t let your heart turn aside to her ways; don’t stray onto her paths. Proverbs 7:25 CSB

Guard your life

Now, sons, listen to me, and pay attention to the words from my mouth Now, sons, listen to me, and pay attention to the words from my mouth. Don’t let your heart turn aside to her ways; don’t stray onto her paths. For she has brought many down to death; her victims are countless. Her house is the road to Sheol, descending to the chambers of death. Proverbs 7:24–27 CSB

But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desire. Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death. James 1:14–15 CSB

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 CSB

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way. For that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 CSB

For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 CSB
