No Warm-Up 10/2/17: Happy October and Happy Homecoming Week  Make sure you have your notebook AND a piece of blank computer paper for a vocab foldable please. We are working on vocabulary first today. **If you need a hard copy of the vocab list, I have it posted on my website.**

Announcements WHS Family Night: Monday, October 2nd, 2017 Homecoming Parade Homecoming Pep-Rally Montgomery County College Fair @ Lone Star Convention Center from 6:30-8:30 PM. Report Cards- 1st 9 weeks ends NEXT Friday. Take care of your grades! Do not wait until the last minute. Notebook check is NEXT Tuesday 10/10/17- this is a major grade for the 9 weeks. Next Monday is a student holiday- No School 10/9/17. Next Wednesday is the PSAT during school.*

*Expansionism- The act or process of increasing or enlarging the extent, number, volume or scope. *Imperialism- The actions used by one nation to exercise political or economic control over a nation. Annexation- The act of adding, gaining, or acquiring something- in this case, territory/land.

Imperialism “5-5-5” (pg. 29) Students will choose 5 words from this list that they are unfamiliar with and write their definition: The Delôme letter U.S.S. Maine (1898) Foraker Act Teller Amendment Platt Amendment Boxer Rebellion Panama Canal Roosevelt Corollary Isolationism Next, students will draw a picture to represent each of the words they chose to define. Students will need to use at least five different colors on this assignment- classroom materials are located in the back if needed.
