BACKGROUND OF THIS PROJECT RE-LIFE Project and its outcomes, mainly addressed to the common need to further promote opportunities for exchange, reflection, debate and action on new and innovative daily practices that may facilitate and promote social inclusion and sustainable development, especially at the grass-root level. http://eco-lyfe.eu/

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME EUROPE FOR CITIZENS RELEVANT FOR THE PROJECT Giving citizen the opportunity to interact and participate in constructing a tighter-knit Europe, which is democratic and world-oriented, united and enriched by its cultural diversity, thus developing citizenship of the European Union. Developing a sense of European identity, based on common values, history and culture. Fostering a sense of ownership of the European Union among its citizens. Enhancing tolerance and mutual understanding between European citizens, respecting and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity, while contributing to intercultural dialogue. Encouraging interaction between citizens and civil society organisations from all participating countries.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE To raise citizens awareness about the responsibilities each citizen should bear, by actively participating within the life of the local community and by adopting sustainable life-styles, for the well-being of the whole society.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES Promoting public participation at the local level, promoting the importance of citizens’ active role in social inclusion and sustainable development practices and policies at the local and European level. Fostering reflection and debate at European level on social inclusion and sustainable development issues, encouraging new lifestyles to promote sustainable development in Europe. Providing opportunities for exchange on social inclusion and sustainable development issues and lifestyles. Developing Participated workshops at the local level in order to develop lifestyles leading to an environmental sustainability, and social cohesion. Drafting recommendations to be submitted to local and European decision makers
