ISU Regional Summits 2019

To add: Why RCGs? Need to replace KO How did we do it? Result / announcement How it will role out / look like What we need to do before then Continuity What we need from you as LBs / how you’re involved Discussions on planning… Use Asana!

You may have seen these announcements a couple of weeks ago…

To keep it brief… We received 392,000 NOK to run a pretty awesome project later this year

How did we apply? Use the LNU ‘Aktivitetsstøtta’ fund Submitting our application before the November 15st deadline Putting together a 10+ page application, worked on primarily between the UDO, OC and our short term intern Sidone Gindre from UiO Approximately 3 weeks planning and drafting the application together

What is it? Four regional summits events taking place over September – October 2019 1 – 2 day workshop events focused on Norwegian society, the ‘Nordic Model’ and understanding the role international students can play in this Multiple stakeholders and partners to be involved: academics, student organisations, community groups, local & national ISU branches

Where did the idea come from? We wanted to reactivate / reinvigorate the Regional Cooperation Groups – RCGs Replace the Kick Off event as the start to the new academic year Find ways to engage with our stakeholders in the wider community Improve our understanding of Norwegian society So that international students can be better represented

What we will be doing over the coming months

Regional cooperation groups – RCGs: a concept to reinvigorate

Proposed Regional Cooperation Groups 4 instead of 5 RCG 1: Oslo + UiO, HiOA, BI, MF, OsloMet, NMBU, Lillehammer, HLT RCG 2: South-Eastern Norway Hønefoss, Kongsberg, Drammen, Vestfold, Telemark, Bø, UiA RCG 3: West Volda, Alesund, Trondheim, Stenkjer, Gjøvik, UiB, NHH, Stavanger RCG 4: North Narvik, Tromsø, Bodø and Harstad

Where we need your help Break into your RCG groups Discuss what groups / organisations / academics / others who you think would be useful to invite to the Regional Summit Can one branch in your group volunteer to be the host? This will help us to plan (think of logistics, travel, accommodation etc) And what dates you would prefer: September 13th, 20th, 27th and October 4th (Friday) How can you cooperate to plan (with the National Board) regionally? Hint: try Asana!
