FIGURE 1 (A), Northern blot analysis of expression of mRNA of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), KDR/Flk-1, Flt-1, and Ets-1 in human corpora lutea. Total RNA was extracted from luteal tissues of five patients in the early luteal phase (ELP), five in the mid-luteal phase (MLP), and five in the late luteal phase (LLP). Samples were transferred onto nylon membranes and hybridized with 32P-labeled cDNA probes of human VEGF, Flt-1, KDR/Flk-1 and Ets-1. L-38 was the control. (B), Density mRNA signals of VEGF, Flt-1, KDR/Flk-1, and Ets-1. All densities were normalized against the density of the L38 band. The density of each signal in the early luteal phase was the a control. ∗P<.05 vs. density in the early luteal phase or mid-luteal phase. Endo.mRNA of VEGF and its receptors.Fertil Steril 2001.
