To Focus on Low Power 1. Begin on the lowest objective lens. 2. Lower the objective lens as low as it can go. 3. Use the coarse adjustment knob to bring the specimen into focus. 4. Use the fine adjustment knob to increase the sharpness *Always start on low power so you don’t break the slide or damage the microscope!

To Focus on High Power 1. Focus on low power first. If you can’t see it at low power you won’t see it at high power. 2. Rotate the nosepiece to the high power objective. 3. Use only the fine adjustment knob. Do not use the coarse adjustment knob or you may crack the slide!
