…adding the 4 Career Resource Coordinators to the team. One located in each of 4 regions They are out there so they see the needs They each bring strengths to the team

CRN This is how it works CTE funds granted to postsecondary schools Hired by the school Develop team and individual goals Manage their own budgets This is how it works

Planning Process Survey sent out to past participants and counselors and teachers on the CRN listserv to see what workshops they want for next year. Develop goals at the spring CRC Retreat to review the year and plan for the coming year. Workshop topics selected at that time along with who is primarily responsible for developing each workshop. CRCs make arrangements at various locations to reserve labs. This has evolved over time by trial and error. Schedules, course descriptions, evaluations and assignments along with arrangements for credit are prepared in the CRN office. Marketing takes place at the fall professional development conference, on various websites and reminders sent out through several listservs. Changed significantly over these three years, here is where we are now. This is what we did this year

If you have questions, contact me at kholle@nd.gov or 701-328-9734 What Have We Learned? Take time to prepare so you are as comfortable as possible with your topic. Even teachers need to be “disciplined” – but you can’t send them to the principal’s office! Be flexible! Don’t try to cover too much information in one session. Give them time to explore. Spread the workshops out over time – for your own sake! Memorize the Customer Support # (1-800-281-1168) If you have questions, contact me at kholle@nd.gov or 701-328-9734
