We’re going to Space Camp!

Tonight’s Agenda Space Camp Basics Which Program to choose? Fundraising & Scholarships Questions

Space Camp Basics Teacher Chaperones – Mrs. Brendle/??? We are going over Spring break, April 2-6, 2012. We take a county approved Charter Bus to camp Teacher Chaperones – Mrs. Brendle/???

U.S. Space & Rocket Center Offers an: Extensive Collection of Space Artifacts Hands-On Exhibits Simulators Gift Shop IMAX® and 3D Digital Theater Davidson Center for Space Exploration

Where do we stay? Housing All campers sleep on premises in dorm style facilities. Male and female rooms on separate floors. All facilities are climate controlled and the cost is included in the program. A resident counselor and a security guard are on duty all night long. Individual showers.

Security & Sickbay Security Sick Bay Security staff available at all times Fenced & Gated facility Sick Bay Staffed by Registered Nurses on duty 24 hours a day In the event of a major medical emergency we are located minutes from a major hospital.

What about meals? Meals at space camp are included in the cost of the trip. What types of food are offered? Space Camp offers a wide range of foods. Meals are cafeteria style and include vegetables, fruits, proteins, and dessert. Can you accommodate special dietary needs? Yes, but camp must be aware of any special dietary needs prior to our arrival. What about meals to and from camp? Students will need to purchase meals on the way to and from camp.

Can I be with my friend? Can I make a teammate request? Yes, please let us know when you register. Requests must be mutual, so please make sure the friend requests your child as well. Teammates must pick each other or they can not be honored. We strive to honor all requests but they are not guaranteed.

Cell Phones & Electronics Can my child bring a cell phone? Space Camp ask that parents NOT pack cell phones and other electronic devices. Cell phones that are visible and used during camp activities or times other than appropriate call times (wake up / lights out) may be confiscated by space camp. Anyone bringing a cell phone must understand this policy and keep cell phones locked in their rooms during other activities.

Payment Schedule: Predicted cost $700 All – by October 31st 3 payments ($234) – October, December, February Monthly -- $117 (October through March) Adopt a student/ Donate extra All payments due by March 1st
