Think Autism Partnership Board Helen Charnock Chair Board You said, we did! Think Autism Partnership Board Helen Charnock Chair Board

What a year 2018 was! What a brilliant year 2018 has been; we have made some great progress in areas like housing and training. We know we still have a long way to go to ensure that our voices are heard and that the autism strategy is being implemented across Bedfordshire to ensure the local needs are being met.

Education, Training and Employment Topic’s covered in 2018 Benefits part 1 Benefits part 2 Housing Education, Training and Employment

Outcomes Central Bedfordshire Council have been working with Autism Bedfordshire and have agreed to 4 sensitive property lets. Bedford Council have signed up for levels 1, 2 and 3 Autism Awareness training Feedback has shown that those who attend would like to receive outcomes from previous meetings; so from now on we will have a slot called - You Said, We Did! Too much Jargon is used in presentations. Everyone who is now invited to present at the TAPB will receive a ‘How to make your presentation autism friendly’ and all presentations will be vetted by Autism Bedfordshire prior to the following meeting. More personal stories from the autistic community to be used at the Think Autism Partnership Board.

Topics to be covered 2019 You have told us that you would like to know more about the following areas: Hate crimes and the criminal justice system Where to go and how to get a diagnosis Mental Health Advocacy Employment support In 2019, if agreed by yourselves today, these will be the main items covered. Can you raise your left arm if you agree to these areas being covered.
