Aseevagam or Ajivika Aaceevakam Yennum Thamizhar Anuviyam (Aaceevakam: The Atomic Philosophy of Thamizhs) by Dr. K. Aaceevagam refers to the Ajivikas origin and identity, culture and communication of Thamizhs.

Neduncheliyan, Aaceevakam originated in Tamizh Nadu and spread out to other parts of India. The Ayyanar worship is the remnant of Aaceevakam.We need to interpret Ayyanar within the historically specific contexts. As he suggests, Ayyanar worship needs further exploration.

According to A.L.Basham's work on Ajivika (Follower of the Way of Life) which published in 2002. he stated about Ajivika it has been called 'a vanished Indian Religion‘. In Southern India it was termed as Ajivikism or Aseevagam which arose at the time of Jainism and Buddhism. its founder is known by the following names: Makkhali Gosala, Gosala Mankhaliputta and Maskarin Gosala Mankhal
