Curriculum in the Senior Phase Building a portfolio of qualifications gathered over a two or three year period. S5/6 – achieving greater depth in subjects studied at S4, or breadth through picking up new subjects.

S5 Curriculum Students should select 5 subjects for study. These can be a mix of National qualifications based on their S4 attainment Students will also continue PSE and core PE. Study will be offered
S6 Curriculum Students should select a minimum of 4 subjects These can be a mix of National Qualifications. Students experience PSE. Study periods Wider Achievement: Work placement Peer mentoring Leadership and employability awards Unit awards
Foundation Apprenticeships FAs are a new option which links school-based learning with the world of work. 2 year courses: Year 1: Study towards a Level 6 National Progression Award in school or college Year 2: Work placement on average one day a week FA in Accountancy and FA Children and Young People to be offered in school. College Experience Students can attend college courses on a Wednesday alongside their normal school timetable. Application process supported by guidance staff in school. Courses on offer: Motor Mechanics, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, Construction Crafts.
Supported Curriculum Enhanced curriculum opportunities available for pupils with ASN profile. Choice process managed through discussion with guidance/ASN staff. Range of courses available from N3 upwards along with supported tutorials available.
Course Choice Form Guided free choice Pupils to identify courses that they would like to study in order of preference. Discuss choices and level of study with guidance teacher. Level of study to be confirmed with Faculty Head for subject. Identify 2 reserve options
