Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Hamlin’s Newsletter April 1-5 Important Dates  Tuesday, April 2- Lines and Angles Summative Thursday, April 11- Progress Reports Friday, April 12- Carnival Day April 19-22- Easter Holiday- no school Monday, April 30- PTO Meeting 6:00PM in the library Tests and Quizzes  Math- Lines and Angles Summative (Tues); Daily Math quiz (Fri.) Science- None  ELA- Comprehensive Quiz (Thur.); Spelling Quiz (Fri.) Social Studies- Ch. 8 Summative (Tues.) Important News Ahhh, where is the time going?! 7 more weeks!! We are in need of volunteers for Carnival Day. Please let me know if you’re interested in helping out and I’ll get you in contact with PTO. Math We will start the week reviewing lines and angles in preparation for our summative exam on Tuesday. We will finish out the week learning about lines of symmetry. Language Arts This week, we will be learning a new way to take notes in our Content Literacy Lesson; “Using Parallel Annotations”. We will practice this skill throughout the week while participating in test prep practices. A comprehensive exam will be given Thursday as a progress monitor to see what skills we need to keep addressing to ensure success on state exams. Science Students will get to observe the life cycle of a mealworm over the next several weeks! Social Studies We will wrap up Chapter 8: Exploring the South on Tuesday of this week with a summative exam. Be sure that students are studying the given study guide in preparation for the exam.
