Lesson 8 Usage Se usa and Corto

To say that something is used we use the passive voice of usar. Se usa una balanza para pesar. A scale is used to weigh. Se usa un cuchillo para cortar. A knife is used for cutting. Se usa un fax para mandar documentos. A fax is used for sending documents.

Corto means short as in not long. Mi nariz es muy corto. My nose is very short. La primavera es muy corta en Sacramento. Springtime is very short in Sacramento. To say short as in not tall, we say bajo. Tom Cruise es muy bajo. Tom Cruise is very short.
