Step 1- Open MS Publisher in your programs menu. Step 2- When it opens, many options for projects/templates will appear on your screen. Look through the various templates. Basics of Desktop Publishing Microsoft Publisher uses task panes to make navigating through work easier. A task pane is a feature included in Microsoft Office 2010. It is an interactive dialog window that gives users a convenient way to use commands, gather information, and modify their documents. This right side is a task pane. Look at all the options you can adjust.

Basics of Desktop Publishing Task panes allow you to change things like color scheme, font scheme, layout etc. There are MANY different combinations that you can use to make your project look just right. Try different combinations of the adjustable features.

Create a Greeting Card Step 6- Customize the “Greeting Card Options” to suit your needs and tastes. Spend at least 5 minutes exploring all of the different options in the TASK PANE on the right of the screen. “Page Size,” “Layout,” “Color Schemes,” & “Font Schemes” are all things that can be customized. There are many different ways to customize your greeting cards using the features located in the TASK PANE. Spend at least 5 minutes exploring the different options.

Create a Greeting Card Step 7- Leave a special note inside your card for our Veterans. You can make it personalized if you would like or you can find a quote or message on the internet. On the bottom of your card, please have your first name and last initial only.

Create a Greeting Card Step 8- When you are finished with your greeting card, save your work to the z:drive. Open your Typing folder we created in your z:drive. Save your card in this folder and name it “Greeting Card_Your Last Name.”

Create a Greeting Card Step 9- Lastly, print your card. Click file and print. Under printer, please select the color printer, “CLA-COLOR-3525 on OPSMSE”. Please turn in your card. Great Job 
