Florida School Law FS 1002.33 is the Charter School statute FS 1002.33(5)(b) states the Sponsor’s duties: Authorizing Oversight and monitoring of compliance Technical support FS 1002.33(9) states the Charter School’s duties: Ensure the Governing Board is ultimately accountable for school’s operations and performance Compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and policies Satisfactory academic and financial performance Discuss compliance with the charter and the approved application

COMMUNICATION Create a culture of mutual communication, collaboration, cooperation, and transparency Understand District processes, procedures, and expectations Respect the autonomy of the charter school Discuss policies that directly impact the charter schools such as transfers, student records, etc.
