Synthesis TW Table Scoring Step 1: Mark your own essay for these: Each body paragraph Topic sentence (NOT source-based) Transition into evidence + cite Explanation Concluding sentence (reconnect to topic sent.) Intro paragraph Hook Transition to thesis Clear thesis Concluding paragraph Summarize thesis Summarize main points End with “mic drop” (universal extension) Overall Answers the prompt Logical 3+ sources used Cohesive throughout Command of language

Synthesis TW Table Scoring Step 2: table scoring with AP rubrics 2 people from your table and 1 person from somewhere else in the room (3 total) For each: Score the essay using the rubric (circle and highlight) Write a statement explaining your score Write a “glow” and a “grow” for the essay Make sure to check: does the essay answer the prompt? are there 3+ sources cited?
