Friday 5/19/17 Notebook Entry: Now that we are nearing the end of our study of the solar system. Make your final guess about what you think the little speck is in the picture to the right. Remember the large object in the corner is Saturn. It’s Earth!!!!

Planet Data Meeting Take turns in your new group sharing the patterns. Make sure you clearly tell the group which scale properties you researched and what pattern you identified for each property Planet Data Meeting You are responsible for recording on the back of your data sheet the pattern for each scale property.

Hypothetical Planet Nine Caltech researchers have found evidence suggesting there may be a "Planet X" deep in the solar system. "The possibility of a new planet is certainly an exciting one for me as a planetary scientist and for all of us," said Jim Green, director of NASA's Planetary Science Division. "This is not, however, the detection or discovery of a new planet. It's too early to say with certainty there's a so-called Planet X. What we're seeing is an early prediction based on modeling from limited observations. It's the start of a process that could lead to an exciting result."

How are the objects that orbit the sun different? Main Differences are: Size Composition (Solid vs. Gas) General Pattern – close to sun is small & solid, further out is large & gas These are some of the clues that are used to determine how the solar system formed.

Where is Maridee? Turn in when you are finished, staple your research/pattern sheet to the back. If not you need to finish over the weekend and turn in Monday
