E-Business의 도입 - 기업의 구조 변화 Application 의 효율성 및 호환성이 중요 A P A P A P A P A P A P A P A P A P Decision Support ERP E-biz Application Services The answer lies in moving to a more unified architecture model. networks were originally stove-piped (e.g., printer sharing & minicomputer LANs for terminal servers) but precipitated out as corporate networks availability of corporate networks made new apps economically feasible (intranets would be prohibitively expensive if you didn’t already have a network middleware (e.g., messaging and directory) precipitating out from NOS and e-mail stove-pipes, creating markets for groupware and other innovative apps next layer will be application services; applications that front-end legacy systems and back-end, through Stage 3 connections, e-business and decision support Key here is that the decoupled rates of change for your applications is critical to meeting the agility across the corp. You are not going to want to change your ERP systems at the same rates that you update your e-business infrastructure. Eg. At Intel, Sandra revs her business systems four times per year. Our SAP infrastructure gets revved maybe once or twice per year. Decision support = anyone can get information from any of the systems. Eg. PSO, Miner and Christensen can all get info on Compaq’s latest order status. RAD = Rapid disposable flexible applications environment. E.g. the notes application we built when we had FDIV. Built it in short timeframe and thrown away when we were done. App bubbles represent legacy apps - don’t continue to build more silo apps and solve problems you have already solved. Why a unified enterprise architecture?
