Presentation transcript:

November 12th-November 16th, 2018 Mrs. Jensen’s News November 12th-November 16th, 2018 We are learning! Our story in reading was LEO the Lightning Bug. Questions to ask your child: *Who was the main character? How did you know? *Why was Leo being teased? Would you feel the same as Leo did? *What was the setting of the story? Tell me more. *What happened in the beginning of the story? In the middle? What happened at the end? We focused on Mm and Nn. Many activities were done to further teach letter sounds and naming. Our sight words for this week are a, to, down, big, not & look. Please continue to practice these words at home. In math, we continued counting back, identifying number to 20, counting and determining 1 less and 1 more. Questions to ask your child: *What is one more than 5? *What is one less than 10? *Show me 9 fingers. Now, show me 1 less. *Show me 7 fingers. Now, show me 1 more. We celebrated our 50th day of school with some fun activities including: a race to 50 game, 50s music dance off, a writing activing, a bubblegum blowing activity and root beer floats! It was so much fun! We will be celebrating the 100th day of school in February! Check our school Facebook page! We enjoyed ourselves at THE CAT IN THE HAT play on Wednesday! Important Dates Nov. 21st – 23rd – Thanksgiving break Dec. 18th – Christmas program Warm winter gear must be sent daily. Label everything. Please send snow pants, gloves, hat, boots, winter coat and whatever else you’d like to keep your child warm while outdoors. Mrs. Jensen jensenj@breckenridge.k12.mn.us
