The Daily Mile http://thedailymile.co.uk/ This year we are asking all children across the school to take part in ‘The Daily Mile’. The children will be encouraged to walk, jog or run with their classmates in the safety of their own playground. Everyone will have fun taking part while building relationships, confidence and resilience. IT IS NOT PE AND IT IS NOT COMPETITIVE! This can be summed up in ‘The Daily Mile’s Five Fs:    Fitness: children become more aware of a healthy lifestyle    Fresh Air: children thrive on the sights, sounds and seasons    Friends: children use the language of friendship to support each other, improving their social and leadership skills    Fun: children enjoy taking part – this is what makes The Daily Mile so successful    Focus: daily physical activity helps children concentrate in the classroom and is proven to raise attainment You can support your child with ‘The Daily Mile’ at home, by both encouraging their confidence in running, and moving outside with them out of school hours. Parents say that ‘The Daily Mile’ helps children to eat and sleep better, and that often they become young ambassadors for whole family fitness!

Clubs Parent Volunteers Getting in touch... Clubs: week commencing 24th September Parent Volunteers Regular/occasional volunteers welcome! Getting in touch... Reading record books At the end of the day (see the next slide) Sending a note via your child Making an appointment at the office

Parental Concerns Our Leadership Team consists of the following people: Headteacher: Mrs Foad Deputy Headteacher: Miss Whiteman Inclusion Manager: Mrs Freuchen Early Years Leader: Mrs Lutz Key Stage 1 Leader: Mr Charter Upper Key Stage 2 Leader: Mr Turton Lower Key Stage 2 Leader: Mrs Bryson We very much encourage an open door policy at our school. If you have any queries or concerns during the course of the year then we encourage you to talk to your child’s class teacher in the first instance (after school is usually the most convenient time to meet your child’s class teacher - rather than just before school). Failing that, please speak to your child’s Key Stage Leader. If your concerns still remain, then please do make an appointment to talk to Mrs Foad. She will be on the playground at the beginning of each day and is looking forward to seeing many of you then.

Thank you for listening...
