Ordering data lamp and gear When will this new mini lamp be available? The new lamp will be commercially available from June 7, Will the new lamp replace the existing Elite Mini GU6.5 35W/930? Yes the new lamp will replace the existing Elite mini GU6.5 35W/930 lamp. No change in luminaire is needed (a check on optics is advisable for small beam angles in combination with horizontal burning position). Can the new Elite Mini GU6.5 35W/930 also run on EM gear? No, because use of EM gear is not safe at end of life. The lamp is designed to run only on EL gear with end-of-life protection. This can be mini gear or standard 35W gear. Can this lamp replace a GU6.5 35W lamp from another brand? Yes, this new GU6.5 35W lamp is open and standard. That means it will fit into existing luminaires and operate on any EL gear that follows IEC standards. This new lamp is an absolute best-in-class performer on critical items such as quality of light, lumen output, lumen maintenance and lifetime. Can this mini GU6.5 lamp replace a mini PGJ5? Adaptation of the luminiare is needed when going from PGJ5 to GU6.5, because of differences in lampholder, light centre length (LCL) and lamp dimensions. Will Philips keep existing PGJ5 mini lamps in the portfolio? Yes. Our PGJ5 is unique because of its smallest dimensions in the industry and we will continue future supplies of the PGJ5 mini lamp for both initial and relamping business.
