Routines Morning Procedures Meals Dismissal School starts at 7:50 so please make sure your child arrives on time. 2nd Grade Expectations

Grading Policy Please keep in mind that information about a child’s achievement and development may be gathered in a number of ways. Some techniques are: Observations Discussions/conferences Work samples Verbal and nonverbal participation Formal assessments, such as quizzes or tests Common grade level assessments

Grading Policy All assignments will be marked for grade using a letter system of E/4 (Exceeds the standard) M/3 (Meets the standard) P/2 (Progressing toward the standard) B/1 (Below the standard) Some assignments are also marked with an effort grade (O, S, N). Homework This year I am going to do a tic tac toe approach for homework. It will need to be turned in monthly. It will focus on core character traits. Also, students need to be reading nightly for at least 15 minutes and practicing their math facts. 13

Other Notes: Reading assessments began first weeks of school. Conference information will be sent out at a later date via Sign Up Genius. Word Study & “Official Homework” starts in October. Students can read each night.
