Finish Tectonics Plates and Volcanoes Analysis Monday, May 06, 2019 Objective: YWBAT analyze the relationship between plate boundaries and volcanic activity. Drill: Volcanoes are often associated with which plate boundaries? Homework Finish Tectonics Plates and Volcanoes Analysis

Convergent and Divergent Boundaries Answer Convergent and Divergent Boundaries

Did you know…? The Hawaiian volcanoes are the biggest mountain range on Earth. They have formed over a stationary hot spot in the middle of the Pacific Plate. The tops of some of the mountains project above the ocean's surface forming the Hawaiian islands. The state of Hawaii consists of eight main islands and an archipelago that stretches 1600 miles in length.

Today’s Activities Drill Discovery Education, Earth Science: Volcanoes Finish Volcanoes and Plates Conclusion

Closure  Classify the following rocks, in order, from highest to lowest proportion of silicon dioxide; andesite, rhyolite, and basalt.

Conclusion Answer Rhyolite Andesite Basalt.
