Some adults have requested examples of expectations for the reasoning part of the homework to help get 3 marks. The reason there are three marks available is because we are not just looking for the correct answer but evidence of what a child has done to get there. In class, children are encouraged to explain their thinking and use visual images to support their written responses.

RISK-TAKING THROUGH REASONING! Each question below is worth 3 marks Mark 1: Drawing a bar or diagram to support your thinking. Mark 2: A sentence stating how you know you are correct. Mark 3: The correct answer! Anna is counting down from 12 in sevens. Does she say -7? Explain your reasoning.
