Proposal The proposal is for 6 of the Bright Tribe Trust schools to join with the Adventure Learning Academy Trust The BTT schools who would be joining ALAT include; Alde Valley Academy (secondary) Colchester Academy (secondary) Cliff Lane Primary School Castle Hill Infant Castle Hill Junior Primary Schools Werneth Primary School The proposal is for the Trusts to merge in September 2018

Title – Arial; 25pt, single line spacing Trust School Successes – Ofsted Inspections Schools within both Trusts are improving 4 out of 5 Bright Tribe schools in the east have improved their overall Ofsted inspection grades since conversion. The 6th remains outstanding. 4 out of 5 ALAT schools improved their Ofsted inspection grades compared to their previous inspection since joining the Trust. All converting schools have now been removed from special measures. Schools and communities in the East of England are positive about the opportunity of joining ALAT; a compliment to the success of ALAT Bold sub-head (if required). Normal text with ‘Bold’ applied. Normal text – 15/20pt Arial with 6pt paragraph spacing. Bullet point – Called ‘Third level’ on master page style.

Trust School Successes – Governance and Accountability Strong Drive Teams are in place in all schools, they support, challenge and contribute to school improvement. The relentless focus on school improvement is supported with challenge at both school and regional levels The Trust has a new CEO and Regional Executive Principals with strong and proven backgrounds in school improvement. …a tangible shift in philosophy, a relentless focus on education. Bespoke support for schools from the Regional Executive Principals Pupils and students are at the heart of our decision making

We want you to know… Adventure learning educational philosophy is driving school improvement Bespoke support for each school that acknowledges individual school communities School hub based model not a centralised model National budget pressures; every school Specific challenges of the Northern Hub Schools Blue Support Services ceased providing services to ALAT and BTT schools in October 2016

Some benefits of the proposed merger Great collaboration Greater depth of knowledge and expertise Broaden horizons Cornwall Hub sharing their expertise within a national context More money back to schools through negotiated economies of scale (audit fees, MIS, data tracking and safeguarding systems Opportunity to think in a different way, share experiences and practice for the benefit of everyone More fit for purpose structure for the benefits of our families

Trust Governance The legal process is simple The proposal for 6 schools to become part of the ALAT MAT Bright Tribe will cease to exist ALAT will have one set of Members and Trustees Funding will continue to come from central government via the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA)

Please don’t worry about… The curriculum, the school name, the day to day operation (including term times) and school uniform Admission arrangements Terms and conditions of employment for staff, there are no changes We will not ask teachers to work in Suffolk schools Individual schools identities are important

How can I ask more questions? ALAT enquiry email address (enquiries@alat.org.uk) Deliver written comments to school receptions marked ‘BTT and ALAT consultation’
