2016 INCITS Officer’s Symposium INCITS Year in Review Phil Wennblom 12 April 2016

From Symposium 2015 We heard: Updates: Dues restructuring proposal is acceptable. Updates: Dues restructuring communicated to INCITS members and implemented for 2016. Forecast for 2016 revenue/expenses is in line with expectations.

From Symposium 2015 We heard: Updates: Futurecasting was an interesting exercise. Making it more specific to INCITS would make it more useful. Updates: For consideration at a future date.

2015 in Numbers INCITS standards published 8 New INCITS projects initiated 6 US National Body votes submitted 758 US National Body contributions/ comments submitted 61

Funding International Secretariats For INCITS to support an international secretariat, we seek financial support from 3+ organizations to share the cost Secretariat sends call for interest to the INCITS community INCITS has notified ANSI of an intent to relinquish the SC 37 secretariat Potential action on the SC 22 secretariat is on the agenda for this week’s EB meeting

Membership Agreement New membership agreement is now required for INCITS participation. Most INCITS members have signed and returned the agreement, but there are some stragglers. Please help us complete the transition by encouraging organizations in your TCs to ensure they have submitted the signed agreement. Any concerns? Contact the secretariat.

INCITS at JTC 1 Supported formation of WG 11 Smart Cities Advocated for clear systems integration guidelines for use across JTC 1 Successful ISO and IEC developing country workshop event at JTC 1 plenary Gained support for a resolution at the 2015 JTC 1 Plenary requesting “that the ISO Technical Management Board review ISO's metrics for document processing times to see if they could be reduced.”
