Beginning – Planning Your Investigation/project. 1) Focus questions – Use the Lotus diagram to brainstorm possible research and inquiry questions. 2) Identifying & defining - topic of investigation, what exactly is it that you are investigating, making, learning? 3) Deciding directions – What are some key areas you want to research and investigate that will form the basis of your investigation/project.

Beginning 4) Action – What are some possible ideas of action that you can incorporate into your investigation? Contacts to email? People to interview? Workplaces to visit? Guest Speakers to come in? 5) Time Frame – Map out when you will do things? Work back from the End of Term 2 – ‘Expo Presentation’. What planning forms will need to be in and when? How long will your Investigation/project take? 6) Creativity – How can you creatively record this investigative journey to inform others at the end of this Project? Think about the End Product NOW!

Middle – Developing your Investigation. 7) Investigate and research – Gather, record and develop a knowledge base on your topic and key questions in as much detail as possible. Use a variety of resources. 8) Enhanced research skills – Don’t just use print and electronic resources but really think about fieldwork, surveys, interviews, podcasts, consultations with experts, and first hand observations and experiences, building or developing something.

Middle…. 9) Connections & Collaboration – Can you connect with local and global communities to assist you with your investigation. 10) Creativity – How can you creatively record this investigative journey to inform others at the end of this Project? How is your End Product DEVELOPING?

End – Presenting your Investigation! Evaluate - What have I found out? What will you show/inform others? How best will you do this? Presentation - Use a variety of media to share the process and product of your investigation. Present – ‘Industry Expo’ – Multi Media? Webpage? Brochures? Creative!

Success Criteria? I have investigated an occupation, industry or passion that I have a keen interest in. I have conducted extensive research to investigate questions I have formed. I have connected with real people, organisations and experts to develop my knowledge further. I have recorded and presented my ‘Future Ambitions’ Journey.
