Reliability Centered Maintenance RCM provides information to enable decision-making about processes and procedures to meet company goals Typical results of RCM include: Development and/or adjustments of maintenance schedules and activities Adjustment to PM programs or development of new ones Procedural changes in Operations Engineering design changes © Invensys

Benefits Provides ability to: Apply RCM only to critical entities where the impact of failure is more extensive, e.g. Safety Environmental Production critical Regulatory/statutory requirements Control accuracy and completeness of failure information by directing it through an approval process at time of entry

Objectives of RCM Use a systematic approach to match maintenance tactics to failure modes Identify activities applicable to the failure mechanism and effective in predicting, preventing or mitigating damaging effects Select cost-effective maintenance strategies which meet operations and maintenance needs

Why collect RCM Data? Facilitate the collection of failure information needed to perform in-depth failure analysis when work is both planned, complete and/or closed Enable detailed analysis of critical entities, where the impact of a failure is more extensive.

What is RCM Data? Failure information Statistics Downtime Root cause, reasons for failure, impact, etc. Recorded on Work Task, Time Card, Equipment Activity Record Statistics Recorded on Work Order, Work Task, Time Card and Equipment Activity Records (multiple statistics) Downtime Recorded on Work Order Close, Time Card

RCM - Approval Failure Approval Information cabinet contains all failure records sent for approval From this cabinet, can launch the Approve Failure Information object to view the failure information and status of approval. demo

RCM – Reliability tracking on entity Reliability tab/view Indicates if entity is reliability managed Defines when the reliability information is to be recorded Defines general function (informational purposes only) Defines cost of production downtime and cost of maintenance delays

RCM – Tracking failure at WO planning ‘Generate failure analysis information’ check box Indicates need to calculate ‘Time to failure’ (TTF) TTF calculated: Failure or checkpoint activity By ‘Root cause’ By ‘Reason for failure’ Avantis auto-creates & posts activity from WO closing from posting of failure information on activity or closing of work order Changes of failure values results in a recalculation of TTF

Maintenance Map Maintenance Map Provides overview of health of entity hierarchy Allows maintenance user or manager to identify problem areas at a glance Data updated according to defined schedule

Maintenance Map – Location and Accessing Located on Maintenance Manager workspace in the Functions folder When accessed user is prompted to choose an entity whose physical hierarchy is to be displayed in the tree map Resulting display is based on data extracted by a new processor (the EAM processor) © Invensys

EAM Processor Data is extracted via EAM Processor (Enterprise Asset Management Processor) service EAM Processor is a Windows service, and is installed as a server component Run from the Avantis Administration Tool plug-in

EAM Processor Settings Extraction parameters are configured in the Avantis Administration Tool Weight factors for on time and past due scheduled work tasks

EAM Processor - Requirements In order to be extracted and displayed successfully: - work tasks tied to the entities are in an open state - at least one RIME factor is populated on the entities in the hierarchy Entities and work orders not meeting these requirements will not appear in the map Invensys © Invensys

RIME Factor and Ranking Index RIME  Ranking Index for Maintenance Expenditures A value (0-99) assigned to the Criticality, Priority and Work Type values used to calculate the ranking index on work documents. Ranking index A value calculated for a work order based on the RIME factors assigned to the entity’s Criticality and Priority values, and on the Work Type value associated with the work orders referencing the entity Calculated as: Criticality RIME factor*Priority RIME factor*Work Type RIME factor If no RIME factors are populated, ranking index is null If some but not all RIME factors are populated, those that are not are assigned a value of 1 If a ranking index exists on a work order, value can be seen in the Status view © Invensys

EAM Processor – Health calculation Performed with a database stored procedure Takes into account open work tasks, open work tasks that are past due, and RIME factor Health values are recalculated on each run of the processor

Roll-Up Health Index Calculation Roll up health index is defined as the average health of a parent entity and its children Calculated as an average of the individual health indexes for each entity in the family So if parent A has health of 60, child B has health of 15 and child C has a perfect health rating of 100 and no open work, the roll-up health is: (60+15+100)/3 = 58.3 In the tree, A would appear green, B would appear red, and C would not appear as it has no open tasks © Invensys

Maintenance Map Monitoring Entities using Maintenance Map When launched, Maintenance Map displays top 10 levels of physical hierarchy Health is instantly displayed by: Relative size of entity on map Color intensity Tooltip information

Maintenance Map Using Maintenance Map Drill capability (up or down) By single level To top or bottom of hierarchy Zoom functionality (in or out) Zoom directly to specific entity Ruler Control Allows filtering of data Left side is low health, health rises to right User can click and drag “brackets” to limit entities to be displayed, e.g. Only display entities whose health is below a defined value

Maintenance Map – Ruler Control Color on ruler represents entity health (green – good health, red – bad health) Data area shows the current values (health is measured between 1 and 100) Histogram shows number of entities at that health level Color partitions are used to filter entities in the display Color markers toggle color intensity (red – poor health, green – good health, white – median health) © Invensys
