Discovering the Potential in All Science Revision Tips Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Science Revision Tips Revision. How do you revise? Active revision, not passive. Short bursts of interactive revision - 15 minutes. There’s nothing worse than reading through a text book hoping you’re absorbing information and then falling asleep. You must be actively doing something otherwise you’ll just daydream. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Revision Videos http://freesciencelessons.co.uk/ More revision videos for separate sciences and combined science and ALL ARE FREE. Clips are approximately 4 minutes long. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Science Revision Tips Topics assessed in paper 1 and paper2, not kerboodle topics. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Exam Technique - Timing Practising with every past paper from the AQA website is essential. Each separate science exam is one hour and 45 minutes. There are 100 marks available. Each combined science exam is one hour and 15 minutes. There are 70 marks available. Students need to complete the paper at a rate approximately 1 mark per minute. 6 mark questions may take a bit longer- 7/8 minutes. Aim to finish a few minutes before the check over answers. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Exam Technique – Reading all the questions Everything said on this is obvious. First thing is to see how many marks there are for each question. Read ALL the text- every sentence is necessary. Learn the command words. Focus on the command words so you know what you need to do to get the marks. Box the command word, circle the connectives and underline the key terminology/words. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Exam Technique – Answering 6 mark questions Allow yourself 7/8 minutes to answer. Again, carefully read all the question. Plan for 2/3 minutes. Write for 4/5 minutes. Chunk up - 6 marks are usually 3 two mark questions. Split the 4 mark questions up in a balanced way. Describe/explain, adv/disadv- 2 marks each. For 6/6, you only need to make 4 points. You can write in bullet points. You won’t lose marks. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Exam Technique – Using Resources Always have a calculator, pens, rulers, protractors. Be familiar with the periodic table. You will have a copy in the exam. Some formulas will be given to you in the exam question. Some you will need to learn. Remember that when units are given to you in the question, it’s as good as being given the formula. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Exam Technique – Answering Numeracy Questions Stage 1- Don’t panic, Stage 2- underline the important terms/words, Stage 3- identify the appropriate formula. Stage 4- substitute the numbers into the formula. Usually, 2 of the 3 numbers are given and you need to calculate the third. Know how to re-arrange equations. Discovering the Potential in All

Discovering the Potential in All Exam Technique – Answering Data analysis questions Where there’s a table/chart/graph, read the title/column heading/labels on axis. Look for a pattern. Make sure you are giving the answer that the examiner wants. Example- Describe, as fully as you can, the trends shown in the students’ results. 3 mark question. Discovering the Potential in All
