What happens when objectives don’t fit? Occasionally objectives can be something very specific for one year group e.g. Read Roman numerals to 100 (appears on year 4 objectives and is not in the year 3 curriculum). There are two options: One year group can consolidate learning from own objective, whilst other year group can work as a group on a very specific concept. Sometimes it can be more appropriate for both year groups to be exposed to the same learning as it can be useful consolidation, particularly in the autumn term or on a first ‘revisit’ to topic.
