Central Louisiana Central Louisiana is similar to North Louisiana. It has forests and hills. Central Louisiana is South of North Louisiana.

Acadiana Acadiana is located south of central Louisiana. The land in Acadiana is flat. Near the Gulf of Mexico the land is covered with swamps and marshes.

Florida Parishes The Florida parishes are north of lake Pontchartrain. They have forests and some hills.

Greater New Orleans Area This area is also on the Gulf of Mexico. It is low flat land that is mostly covered with water. It has many swamps, marshes, and bayous.

Bayou A bayou is a slow moving stream that forms off a lake or a river.
