Where are we? Home Economics was not listed as a subject on Bitesize BBC investment Bitesize reaches 78% of GCSE age students 4 out of 5 students saying that it helped them to “feel more prepared for their exams”. Bitesize content is aimed primarily at middle-ability students, traditionally those working to boost their grades from a D to a C.

Our work… Divided work into 18 discrete study guides The ‘revision chapter’ is between 1,000 and 1,500 words focusing on what students need to know in preparation for their exams or assessments, hitting key learning points in a way that is accessible to every level of academic ability. They are designed to be factually correct, high-quality and curriculum-relevant, while being delivered in simple, straightforward language.

Our work… Visual aids are core to Bitesize and all infographics adhere to the Bitesize Style Guide, creating a continuity of visual style across the Bitesize product.   Where appropriate, study guides have been enhanced by age-appropriate original video (either live action or animation), reinforcing clear learning outcomes, particularly for those more inclined to visual learning. Each study guide also contains a test chapter, featuring multiple choice questions that help students discern what they have learned.

KEY TERMS

Our work… In addition to all of this is the Bitesize app, containing ‘flashcards’ based on the study guide content. These ‘flashcards’ contain brief summaries of key points in the study guide text, quiz, infographics and videos relevant glossaries. This content is specifically designed for mobile devices to improve accessibility for students and enable “on the go” revision right up to the last minute!

Coming soon, hoping May this year! Thank you for listening.
