Emily ann mcbride My Story

Who am I? A clip from my very favorite movie ever, Zoolander!

I enjoy the simple things in life I enjoy the simple things in life. I am the happiest when I am camping, sipping some coffee, or just hangin’ in my hammock.

I have always enjoyed solving puzzles I have always enjoyed solving puzzles. Growing up, Nancy Drew was my favorite! That desire to problem-solve (especially in real time) has remained with me through my life. Teaching is appealing to me because teachers are always problem solving and adapting at break-neck speeds to try to give their students what they need to learn and thrive.

I want to teach because I have tried it out and loved it I want to teach because I have tried it out and loved it. I taught an English class last fall while in Mexico, and it was the biggest blessing I have ever received. This summer, I continued to test out the profession by teaching an academic summer camp, and the joy was multiplied. Coming into my room on the last day of class and seeing “We love you, Miss Emily!” written on my chalkboard nearly moved me to tears. I love the profession of teaching because it allows you to make meaningful and personal connections with the people around you.

Even though the future seems far away, it is actually beginning right now.” -Mattie Stepanek Although it is hard to imagine myself in a classroom in as little as two years, I am thrilled that the classes I am taking this year are already launching me into the future that I have chosen. God willing, I will be a teacher before long!
