Thesis & Background Even though it is considered as a victimless crime, video game piracy has caused many repercussions such as losing jobs and tax revenue.

Thesis & Background Even though it is considered as a victimless crime, video game piracy has caused many repercussions such as losing jobs and tax revenue. Background: Video games piracy has been around since there was an Internet. Video games piracy forced some companies to merge with other companies and some of them to go bankrupt.

Facts Video games piracy has caused $3 billion tax revenue loss anually and approximately 100,000 direct jobs.

Nintendo: modded console checker. Microsoft: Xbox Live to look for modified console. Sony: Blu-ray media which is expensive and hard to copy.

Conclusion Video games piracy will never cease as long as video games exist.
