Subterm 1: Units of Instruction The first sub-term will focus on the unifying themes of life. There will be a lot of new terms, concepts and labs so attendance is very important. Introduction to class: What is Science? Biochemistry Cells & Cell Division Photosynthesis & Respiration

Subterm 2: Units of Instruction Molecular Structure & Function of DNA Genetics & Heredity Evolution

GRADES: Category Weights Class work/Labs 25% Tests and Quizzes 35% Homework 10% Notebook Final 20% *Late work will only be accepted when attached to a late pass.

Homework Homework will be assigned on a regular basis. If a homework assignment has not been given it would be a good idea to look over the notes because it can be easy to fall behind,

Grading Scale Each student has received 4 bathroom passes and a late pass. For each of these not used 10 extra credit points will be applied to their grade. 100 - 93 A 76 - 73 C 92 - 89 A- 72 - 69 C- 88 - 87 B+ 68 - 67 D+ 86 - 83 B 66 - 63 D 82 - 79 B- 62 - 59 D- 78 - 77 C+ 58 - 0 F

What Can You Do At Home To Help? Have students do homework before social time/ computer time Encourage study sessions Check weekly agenda for important dates Take an interest E-mail/Call me with questions and/or concerns Library is open Mon. & Wed. until 5:00pm and Tues. & Thurs. until 9pm for computer and study use.
