Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair <stuart.kerry@philips.com> as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE 802.11 Working Group. If you have questions, contact the IEEE Patent Committee Administrator at <patcom@ieee.org>. Adrian Stephens, Intel Corporation John Doe, Some Company

Month Year doc.: IEEE 802.11-yy/xxxxr0 October 2006 Abstract This document contains a summary of the editorial response to the comment approved in the September TGn session, plus showing the current status of the comment resolution database and plans for draft releases through November. Adrian Stephens, Intel Corporation John Doe, Some Company

Status of the editorial work October 2006 Status of the editorial work Resolution of comments approved in September See “approved” tab of 11-06/0706r18 The “R” comments were moved into the “no edit required” bucket, so they disappear off the subsequent statistics Adrian Stephens, Intel Corporation

Reminder – Edit Status Codes October 2006 Reminder – Edit Status Codes Non-recycled EI – edit as resolution EM – edit with minor changes, editor happy that he understood the intent and introduced no technical changes EN – nothing to do – covered by another resolution Recycled EMR – edit with changes. Editor not happy that he fully understood the instructions, or that he introduced no technical change. ER – editor cannot implement the comment – either because he doesn’t understand it, or because it contradicts some other comment. Adrian Stephens, Intel Corporation

October 2006 Edit Status for September Approved Comments (see “Edited in D1_05” tab) Adrian Stephens, Intel Corporation

Planned sequence of drafts + d1.05 review October 2006 Planned sequence of drafts + d1.05 review D1.05 (redline insertions only) & matching 11-06/0706r19 – done Editorial Review of D1.05 to finish at the end of next week Scope is to report defects in the editing, or inconsistencies with the spreadsheet Scope is *not* to report defects previously edited, or disagree with approved resolutions, or bring new comments. Expect a D1.06 to be published a week later Will call for defects during the Nov TGn session, and also wrap in any adjustments to EMR comment resolutions, so expect a D1.07 to be issued at the end of the November meeting for approval by TGn.
