4th Expert Advisory Forum Priority Substances 14.2.2003

Water Framework Directive requires us to : Work programme 2003/2004 Water Framework Directive requires us to : > submit proposals for (Articles 16(6 and 7): quality standards and emission controls / phasing-out > review 76/464/EEC Directive and its “daughter” Directives, revise the controls of the priority substances and possibly repeal relevant (parts of these) Directives. (Article 16(8)) > review whether 14 of the priority substances should be classified hazardous. (Decision 2455/2001) > review the adopted list of priority substances at the latest December 2004 and every four years thereafter Article 16 (4), and come forward with proposals as appropriate.

Work programme 2003/2004 Working arrangements > Water Framework Directive Consultant. > Consortium of 8 organisations, lead by Water Research Center (WRc, UK). > Consortium includes Fraunhofer Institute(DE), NERI (DK), NIVA(NO), FEA(AT), Cedex(ES), Milieu(BE), Vituki(HU), NCMR(EL), SYKE(FIN) and RIZA(NL). > Technical and administrative support. > 3 years(annually renewable). > Priority Substances team.
