Writing Choose a writing prompt from the August writing calendar Write what you ate for a meal- label what food category it came from. Math: Basic Math Facts We will practice fluently adding and subtracting within 10 using mental strategies. Writing: Personal Narratives We will learn how to write a narrative that recounts a well elaborated short sequence of events, includes details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, uses transition words, and provides a sense of closure. Math Practice Addition and Subtraction Math Facts to 10 Go to class webpage, click on “links” and play “that’s a fact” Spelling Choose a spelling activity from the August Speller’s Choice Social Studies: Georgia Regions We will locate and compare major topographical features of Georgia and describe how these features define Georgia’s surface. We will locate and compare Blue Ride, Piedmont, Coastal Plain, Ridge & Valley, and Appalachian Plateau. We will also locate the Savannah, Flint, and Chattahoochee Rivers. Reading Read for 20 minutes Practice asking and answering questions before, during, and after reading S.S./ Science Review the Regions of Georgia sheets your child has been bringing home.
