FINISHING Shirt finishing have different steps – 1. Thread cutting 2. Stain removing 3. Measurement checking 4. Find defect faults

1. Thread cutting Must cut all the excess threads – e.g. at the end of all seams , button hoes , buttons , at collar and cuffs , on hem etc.

2. Stain removing What is the difference between stain and spot ? Stain means main - spot means surrounding area of the stain Types of stain – use proper removal – e. g. for stain of cream , we use carbon tetra chloride , soap and water ( continue..)

CHEMICALS USED FOR STAIN REMOVAL - Carbon tetrachloride - Hydrochloride acid - - Oleic acid - Acetic acid - Ammonium acetate - Ammonia solution - Glycerin - Benzyl alcohol - Benzene - Hydrogen peroxide

3. Measurement checking Check all components as per specification sheet – check stitches per inches - seam type - length – width – placket and pocket balancing – sleeve length –cuff balancing – collar points – stand shapes – side seam length - button hole distance – button fixing – hem width

4. Find defect faults - Stitch with seam - Puckering - SPI ( + 2 or - 1 ) - Open stitching - Off stitching - Loose or broken - stitching - Holes - Uneven pocket or flap - Sticker, scrap etc. - Stitch with seam - Puckering - Button hole ( un cut, incomplete, uneven ) - Stains - Wrong marking - Wrong material used
