Sustainability and Transformation Programme STP Resourcing Group The high level objectives of this work are: to improve the supply of quality staff into the wider Devon health and social care system. to support the development and retention of a resilient and sustainable workforce that is flexible, able to manage change and can effectively adjust to an ever-changing business need.

Part of STP Resourcing Plan Single Devon health and care marketing brand to promote working in the sector. Identification of future staff supply pipelines into health and social care. Schools, colleges and universities engagement programme. Work experience in health and social care. Marketing campaign for shortage roles in health and social care.

Integrated Ambassador pilot Successful application to take part in Skills for Care’s Integrated social care and health I Care…Ambassadors pilot, using the brand name Proud to Care Ambassadors in Devon. Proud to Care Ambassadors include both health and social care professionals. Pilot runs until end of November 2017. Skills for Care will be evaluating the impact.

Our Ambitious Goal Our goal is to have at least one Proud to Care Ambassador, representing the health and social care sector, at every school, college, university, job centre and apprenticeship careers event across wider Devon! Work Experience Offer Opportunity for providers (care homes, day services, mental health services) Work experience in Torbay and Teignbridge 40 students, aged 17-19 years old Interested in career in health and social care 1-2 days per week for 3 months from Jan 2018 Can work additional paid shifts Contact: phillippa.lovell@nhs.net Exciting Opportunity to offer Work Experience and to offer additional paid shifts at peak times   There is an excellent opportunity for providers (nursing homes, residential homes, day services and mental health services) to offer work experience in the Teignbridge area.  Forty students, aged 17-19 years, who are interested in careers in health and social care, are looking for placements.  The students will have undertaken the Care Certificate and have a DBS check before their placement. The unpaid placements are for 1 to 2 days per week over a 3 month period starting in October-November 2017.  Students may be able to work additional paid shifts e.g. to cover peak periods at weekends or in the holiday season.
