Current marketplace FM is already exploring its archive for online opportunities FM digitises & makes available where there is consumer demand & where there is commercial return Some of archive is never sold, even in analogue form FM is seeing monetisation from online activity Current monetisation models not sufficiently robust to consider making complete archive available online – but as models mature & develop, we will delve deeper into archive to satisfy demand Cost of putting programmes online – a commercial reality which cannot be ignored
Rights clearance for online use FM has not experienced significant difficulties in clearing archive for online use Able to clear programmes through framework of collective agreements/blankets with majority of rights holders sharing in income Do not believe difficulties sufficiently significant to justify Extended Collective Licensing
Copyright is the reward of investment in creativity Need to ensure a continued return on investment in copyright to ensure we can re-invest in more original EU content Copyright is key to safe guarding the future of creative industries
