The “Fury Fighters” Academy News Week of February 27, 2017 Dear Parents, Students will take the Writing FSA test on this week Tuesday. It is very important that students attend school on Tuesday for this important test. Students should get a good night sleep on Monday night and eat breakfast a healthy Tuesday morning. We will test next week on Topic 13 Assessment. Test Corrections for any topic assessments is will be March 8th, so the retest will be finished by March 9th to finalize grades for the 3rd nine weeks. In Edmodo, I have folders with multiple resources in the Math group for Topic 13 based on the standards we are learning that can be used as addition practice at home. Science: This week in science we will continue to learn about Forces and Motion. This week we will focus on balanced and unbalanced forces. Students will have a quiz on this material on Friday this week. ELA: This week in ELA, we are taking the writing portion of the FSA.  Please encourage students to do their best on this assessment and ask your student about the various strategies and techniques they have learned in class.  There will be no spelling this week, it will resume next week.  Please make sure students get a good night's rest on Monday and eat a healthy breakfast Tuesday morning.  Thank-you for your help and encouragement in this endeavor. Social Studies: This week we will continue to learn about the 13 colonies. Students will begin a project on one of the colonies. They will be making a travel brochure about their colony including information about the colony’s geography, famous people and cities, economy and resources found in the colony. Tuesday February 28th: Writing FSA Friday March 10th: End of 3rd 9 Weeks Grading Period Monday March 13-17th: Spring Break Monday March 20th: No school for students
