CELA By the Numbers Albertans using CELA services have borrowed, downloaded or accessed over 1.2 million items since 2014 120 Alberta libraries in Canada carry CELA DAISY CD deposit collections 111 Albertan educators representing 4,200 students have signed up for CELA services. Close to 11,000 titles in French have been made available through our partnership with BAnQ CELA sends our Open Book e-newsletter to over 9,000 patrons, 1,200 library staff and 600 educators nationwide CELA/CNIB has added 2,800 titles from ABC Global Book Service-the WIPO pipeline for exchanging titles via the Marrakesh Treaty. Our collection is currently the most heavily sought, encompassing close to 60% of downloads.

Phone it Forward CNIB seeks donations of smart phones, which will be refurbished, loaded with relevant apps, distributed to CNIB clients with vision loss, who will be trained on use of the devices. In Phase 1 of the partnership, libraries will serve as a pick-up point for the envelopes needed to donate the phones. Plans underway for 15 library systems. In Phase 2, Libraries will provide meeting space for training. Draw persons with print disabilities into the library space and to showcase accessible services.
