The Chinese new year started when a giant ferocious, violent, single horned beast named Nian slept at the bottom of the ocean. But at the end of one New Year’s eve, he rose up out of the water and attacked Chinese villages.

If you ever wondered why they always have red clothes and fireworks it is because the beast hated red and loud noise of the fireworks How it all started

It all started when an elderly man came to town and stayed and waited while everyone fled the village. When the beast came the man used red lanterns and wore red clothing head to toe and light fireworks off. Then the monster fled.
