42SL255 as a Farmstead, 1877–1905 1877 Henry Cohn files Desert Land Act claim, 640 acres (patent not received until 1888). 1886 Surplus Canal completed, empties onto Cohn's claim, creates "Cohn's slough" on north half. 1890 Cohn shares ownership of property with Frederick and Samuel Auerbach. 1896 House and barn first reported in property tax records (Cohn resides in city). 1898 First mention of property being leased (to Chinese tenants). 1899 Samuel Auerbach becomes sole owner of property. 1905 Property described as "old Cohn ranch" and abandoned.
