Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair stuart@ok-brit.com as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE 802.11 Working Group. If you have questions, contact the IEEE Patent Committee Administrator at <patcom@ieee.org>. Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc. Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc.

Ad Hoc Operation Submission based Agenda for meetings March 2007 Ad Hoc Operation Submission based Submissions should reference submitted comments Submissions may be either solicited or unsolicted We will only review individual comments upon request of members Agenda for meetings Will be determined by ad hoc chair and announced in advance as much as possible Priority will be (high to low): solicited submissions unsolicited submissions General comments Resolving comments Proposed comment resolutions will be voted in ad hoc Goal is to reach 75% or higher agreement In some cases may have to accept simple majority, but comment resolutions with less than 75% agreement may be held in ad hoc (not motioned in TGn) Chair will make motions in TGn regarding comment resolution of behalf of ad hoc Will ask for prior consent of ad hoc Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc.

March 2007 Comment Resolution PHY comments may be found in submission 11-07/0341r1 There are 284 unique PHY comments assigned 313 total PHY comments (29 duplicates) I have divided them into 23 topic groups In this session we will review topic groups and ask for volunteers Role of volunteer Prepare submission(s) on how to resolve these comments May return some comments to ad hoc chair Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc.

Other discussion AM2 Tuesday March 2007 doc.: IEEE 802.11-07/0379r4 March 2007 Other discussion AM2 Tuesday Should non-HT duplicate be considered an HT format or a non-HT format? Is a 20 MHz transmission in a 40 MHz mask a complaint waveform? Do we need to force ourselves into a binary decision? Can we propose a set of terms to resolve this issue? Would a device that could send only non_Ht duplicate packets, would it be an HT-device? Would it be a legacy device? While coming up with new terms may not create a lot of text, it might touch many sections in the MAC. Should this be discussed in the TGn ad hoc? Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc. Wednesday PM2 Agenda Planning Comments March 2007 Planning for April and May Is there a need for a telecon in April? Will submissions be ready in May? Our goal for May is to resolve 80% of comments Resolve most of the simple items Start building consensus on difficult issues In July we’ll try to resolve the remaining comments Comments New update 11-07/0341r2 is on server Reassigned comments are being sent to PHY I have assigned a comment group I expect some assignees to reassign some comments to the pHY at large I’ll move these into “misc” and look for volunteers in July or propose a resolution myself I welcome volunteers for some of the comments in misc Send an email to me , cc Bruce Kraemer All submissions relating to resolution of PHY comments are welcome If you prepare a submission, please contact me (also cc Bruce Kraemer) to request time on the agenda Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc.

Submissions 11-07/0457r0 Assaf Kasher (Intel) March 2007 doc.: IEEE 802.11-07/0379r4 March 2007 Submissions 11-07/0457r0 Assaf Kasher (Intel) Modified to r1 based on discussions in ad hoc. Doug Chan plans to make a submission explaining comment with CID 346 and 406 before we resolve them. The submission will be ready before the May IEEE meeting. The use of the word “transmission” when specifying receiver CCA seems awkward to some people, but has precedence in 802.11. The group may try to come up with better words, though some members prefer the word transmission. Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc. Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc.
