5-6 Inequalities in ONE Triangle

If we understand that then it should make sense that is greater than either all by themselves.

We have discussed this before…

If I were to give you three segments all of different lengths can you always make a triangle from those three segments? When asked if three segment lengths will create a triangle or not, you must identify the two smallest segment lengths, if their sum is greater than the third segment then YES they create a triangle. If equal to or less than the third side then NO they do not create a triangle.
